Madurai:
A septuagenarian school secretary,lodged in the Central prison in Madurai after his arrest on charges of sexually harassing girl inmates of the school hostel, died on Tuesday after complaining of chest pain, police said.
Officials said Mr Krishnan was rushed to hospital after he complained of chest pain but died on the way.
76-year-old Mr Krishnan, also the hostel warden of the government-aided school, was arrested on Monday on a complaint from two students that he was 'misbehaving' with them.
The students said no action was taken by the authorities concerned despite several complaints against the secretary.
Mr Krishnan had earlier worked as the Personal Assistant to the Madurai District Collector for more than 10 years.
