Belgaum:
In a major train accident in Karnataka, seven coaches of a train have been derailed and four have flipped over. The train was headed from Hubli to Miraj. Part of the track was reportedly washed away by a flash flood.
The accident took place at around 5:20 pm, about 30 kms from Belgaum.
A railway employee is still trapped inside the one of the bogies.
Medical relief trains were rushed from Castle Rock, Hubli and Miraj to the accident site, a railway spokesperson told the Press Trust of India. The injured have been admitted to hospitals in Belgaum.
