Thiruvananthapuram:
Noted economist and policy analyst Shafi Mather has been appointed economic advisor to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
Mr Mather would be in charge of monitoring implementation of the programmes put forward by Sam Pitroda, the state's mentor for development, an official press release said in Thiruvananthapuram.
Mather is presently convenor of the economic policy and planning committee of KPCC. He is also a visiting lecturer at the London School of Economics.
He had earlier worked with the policy and planning wing of the AICC along with Sam Pitroda and Jairam Ramesh.
