Hyderabad:
At least six persons including three women and a two-year-old child were killed and four others injured after a speeding lorry hit their vehicles in two separate incidents in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, the police said.
The lorry driver, who was allegedly drunk drove the lorry in a "rash and negligent" manner, running over a two-wheeler, killing its two riders on the spot, on the outskirts of Chadalvadu, they said.
The same lorry, hit two autorickshaws near Maddiralapadu after a distance of 1.5 km from the first accident, resulting in the death of four occupants in the autos, including three women and a baby, while four others were injured, a police officer said, adding both mishaps occurred between 2.30 pm and 2.40 pm.
"The lorry driver was drunk and has been taken into custody, while bodies of six persons have been sent for postmortem," he said.
Further investigations are on, he said.
