Coimbatore: Six persons, including an eight-month-old baby, were killed and three injured when their van collided with a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus at Ramnagar in nearby Tirupur district in the wee hours today.
While five victims, including the child, died on the spot, one succumbed to injuries in a Government hospital. The accident occurred when Dhanapal of Tirupur, his family and relatives were returning home from Tiruchendur after attending a ceremony.
The bus was coming from opposite side after overtaking a vehicle, police said. All the injured, including wife of Dhanapal, were admitted to the government hospital here.
