Chennai: A six-member central team of doctors arrived in Tirunelveli on Thursday in the midst of Tamil Nadu government intensifying measures to control spread of dengue fever in the district.

Three separate wards have been opened in the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital to treat dengue cases. Of the 166 patients undergoing treatment as on May 23, most are children under 16 years, officials said.
