With calls for his resignation getting louder, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday told NDTV today that 'all the issues will be discussed with the Congress high command.' Mr Chandy has been severely criticised for his government's alleged role in the solar panel scam.
A day after Kerala High Court made critical observations against the Congress-led UDF government led by Mr Chandy over the scam, the coalition leaders met in Thiruvananthapuram to discuss the political and legal crises.
Chief Minister along with KPCC President will be in Delhi on July 28 and 29 to discuss the issue.
On being asked if apart from Cabinet reshuffle, a change in leadership will be discussed too in Delhi, Mr Chandy said "Everything will be solved after the Delhi meeting. They will be appraised of the current situation and will take the final decisions'.
Mr Chandy had earlier said that he will not resign as the Chief Minister after being backed by Sonia Gandhi and union minister AK Antony. But the High Court's remarks have reportedly created a new 'wave of concern within the coalition' in Kerala.
The Kerala High Court had expressed its dissatisfaction with the progress in the on-going investigation and had asked where the money collected by the accused in cheating case had gone and whether those who lost the money would get it back.
The solar scam pertains to duping of large number of people by scam accused Saritha Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan. The scam took a political turn after the arrest of a close personal aide of Mr Chandy for his alleged links with the fraudsters.
Two other personal staff members of Mr Chandy were removed and state public relations director A Firoz was also arrested in a related case. The case also took sensational turn with the arrest of actress Shalu Menon.
