Bangalore:
The Special Lokayukta Court, which was shifted to the Parappana Agrahara Central jail complex on Bangalore outskirts in the aftermath of violent incidents involving lawyers, would start functioning from the city from May 21, official sources said on Wednesday.
The Lokayukta court will function from a multi-storey building situated near Vidhana Soudha, the state secretariat, sources said.
In the aftermath of the March 2 violent incidents at the City Civil Court in which some advocates targeted mediapersons and police, the Lokayukta court was shifted to Central Jail complex.
Advocates had protested the shifting, saying it caused inconvenience to them as they have to travel a long distance.
The Lokayukta court is hearing some high profile cases involving former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, H D Kumaraswamy and others.
