DMK leader MK Stalin on Monday met former minister KKSSR Ramachandran at the central prison.
Stalin was accompanied by DMK leaders including Thangam Tennarasu, Thalapathy and Jayaraman.
Ramachandran had been lodged in the prison in connection with the murder of a postal official at Irukkankudi in Virudhunagar district in 2007.
Earlier he addressed a public meeting organised by the party last night to condemn the power tariff hike and milk price rise.
He said there was no power cut during the previous DMK regime.
