Visakhapatnam: The city police on Saturday arrested eight persons and seized stolen property including gold and silver ornaments, laptops, motor cycles and a car, worth collectively Rs 71 lakh.
Police Commissioner J Purnachandra Rao said the accused were involved in various crimes including chain snatching, house breaking and motorcycle thefts over the last six months.
They were allegedly involved in 51 cases in Visakhapatnam city and 20 cases in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts.
Police recovered two kgs of gold ornaments, 750 grams of silver ornaments, eleven laptops, three LCDs, two video cameras, two DVDs, five motor cycles and one car.
One of the accused is a 24-year-old MBA student.
