Guntur (Andhra Pradesh): Two students sustained injuries when they were thrashed with a cable wire by their headmaster for not wearing uniforms, it is unofficially known.
The incident occurred at Koganti Sivaiah Municipal High School at Tenali town in Guntur district, according to sources. No complaint was lodged by the aggrieved, police said.
When headmaster P Anjaneyulu found that two students of class IX were not wearing uniforms, he thrashed them with cable wire. As a result they suffered contusions and abrasions.
After their parents took exception and threatened to go to the police, the headmaster expressed his regret, which the parents accepted and the issue was closed.
There has been no official confirmation of the incident. The police, parents and the headmaster denied the incident and blamed the media for its overenthusiasm.
