The Tamil Nadu Government on Friday filed a defamation suit in a Chennai court against DMK President M Karunanidhi for allegedly making "libelous" remarks against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
The suit, filed by the City Public Prosecutor in the Principal Sessions Court, also sought action against DMK's mouthpiece "Murasoli" for reporting Mr Karunandhi's comments.
The CPP said in the report which appeared in the August 8 edition of 'Murasoli', Mr Karunanidhi had made some "sarcastic" and "libelous" comments about Ms Jayalalithaa and contended they were defamatory.
The suit, filed by the City Public Prosecutor in the Principal Sessions Court, also sought action against DMK's mouthpiece "Murasoli" for reporting Mr Karunandhi's comments.
