Chennai:
Claiming that the Tamil Nadu government was not following reservation policy in recruitment of doctors in a super-speciality hospital, DMK today warned of protests to get it implemented.
Party chief M Karunanidhi said government had proposed to recruit persons for various posts, including Director for the Super Specialty Hospital in the Secretariat-Assembly complex constructed by his previous government.
Citing from an order in this regard, he said "There is no reservation for these posts", adding this was against social justice and reservation policy.
"Reservation is the basic policy of the Dravidian movement. We have been continuously voicing (our support) for that. DMK will not hesitate to lead struggles against anyone who makes attempts against reservation policy," he said in a statement.
Soon after coming to power in 2011, ruling AIADMK had decided to convert the New Assembly-Secretariat Complex inside Omandurar Government Estate here into a multi super-speciality hospital, and include a medical college there.
