Chennai:
Health workers in the State will be administered vaccines as part of preventive measures against the spread of H1N1 virus, more commonly known as swine flu, a top official said on Friday.
While nearly 25,000 units of vaccines were available, more will be sought from the Centre, Dr RT Porkai Pandian, Director Public Health and Preventive Medicine, told reporters.
Health workers, mainly in Chennai and Coimbatore, will be administered with preventive vaccine starting from Saturday, he said.
Last week, a farmer from Tirupur district had succumbed to the virus at a Coimbatore hospital.
