Tamil Nadu: Over Rs 120 Crore Allocated For Basic Amenities in Thanjavur, Dindigul

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today announced allocation of over Rs 120 crore for basic amenities in Thanjavur and Dindigul Corporations.
     
She announced that Rs 82.43 crore would be spent for works for Thanjavur, including upgrading drinking water facilities, relaying of roads, upgrading an existing park, construction of platforms and erecting streetlights.

Similarly the government has allocated Rs 42.85 crore for Dindigul and this sum would be used to upgrade water bodies, creating basic amenities at the Dindigul bus stand, road upgradation and construction of toilets among others, she said in a statement.
    
The government has also approved a sum of Rs 70.50 crore for a drinking water upgradation scheme and tenders would be floated shortly, she added.
