Tamil Nadu election results 2016 handed a massive victory to chief minister and AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa, making a 32-year history. Her party's victory has deferred the 'yo-yo trend' of strong anti-incumbency politics in the state granting her a second straight term.

In Puducherry, the Congress-DMK alliance is leading on 16 of the 30 assembly seats followed by Chief Minister N Rangaswamy's All India NR Congress with 8 seats in a close contest.
