Tamil Nadu top brass greet people on Christmas

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Goveror K Rosaiah, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and DMK President M Karunanidhi greeted people on the occasion of Christmas, which will be celebrated tomorrow.

In a Raj Bhavan statement, the Governor conveyed his heartiest greetings to "all my Christian brethren."

"May the holy occasion of Christmas rekindle in us the spirit of love and compassion and promote unity and brotherhood. Let us live up to the ideals of Lord Jesus Christ and join hands to build a harmonious society," he said.

Ms Jayalalithaa said if one lived by the principle of hope as preached by Lord Jesus, one can attain all success in life.

Lord Jesus had also preached equality and one should always follow it, she said. Referring to her government programme of providing aid to Christian pilgrims travelling to Jerusalem, she said 891 people had benefited so far.

Mr Karunanidhi also extended his greetings, saying Lord Jesus preached love and patience.

PMK leader S Ramadoss and VCK founder Thol.Thirumavalavan MP also extended their Christmas greetings.
