Bangalore: A software engineer hailing from Tamil Nadu, who had come here for New Year celebrations, was stabbed to death by his friends, a top police official said today.
Karthik was stabbed by his friends following a drunken brawl in front of a hotel late last night, City Police Commissioner Jyotiprakash Mirji told reporters here.
The victim suffered injuries in the stomach, face and thigh and was rushed to St. Johns Hospital after the security guard posted at the entrance of the hotel noticed him lying on the road badly injured, Mirji said.
He succumbed to injuries in the morning,Mirji said.
Three of his friends, who also hail from Tamil Nadu, have been taken into custody for interrogation, Mirji said.
A case has been registered.
