Explaining the features of the app, Mr Reddy said it has 'search' and 'entry option'.

"Whenever the officer suspects any vehicle, they can search details of the vehicle by entering vehicle number, chassis number and engine number and immediately information will flash that whether it is in stolen category or not along with detail of unit/district/police stations, numbers etc, if the vehicle falls under stolen category," he said.

On the 'entry option', Mr Reddy said officials can directly update the stolen/abandon vehicle particulars using the option.

Updation and search of stolen/abandoned vehicle data through mobile phone will facilitate police officers for immediate tracing of stolen vehicles, he said, adding, state-wide implementation of this application will help in nabbing the offenders.
