CPF (India) Pvt Ltd from Thailand is likely to invest about Rs 1,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh for setting up agri-based industries.
A delegation from the company met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Wednesday and expressed their interest to establish chicken processing, fish and prawns related enterprise in Chittoor, Nellore, East and West Godavari districts, an official release said.
The company officials have agreed to consider Mr Naidu's request to set up agri-based food parks, the release said.
The company would set up a chicken processing plant at Diguvamsapalli village in Chittoor district on Andhra-Karnataka border and establish a prawn processing and export plant at Chillakuru in Nellore district.
The firm would also launch fish and prawns-based enterprises at Erravaram in East Godavari district and Saripalle in West Godavari district, the release said.
Mr Naidu told the delegation that his government is planning to set up food parks in the state in a big way.
The Chief Minister also told the delegation that the government is taking steps to provide uninterrupted power supply to industries, the release added.
