Thousands of musicians perform at Sillicon Andhra event in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Thousands of musicians on Sunday came on a single platform to showcase their skills in playing traditional instruments at an event organised by the Sillicon Andhra at the LB Stadium.

The patrons of instruments like nadasvarams and dhols and other musical instruments, left the audience spellbound at the 'international convention of traditional and auspicious instruments' an initiative by the organisation.

SiliconAndhra, a non-profit organisation, works towards popularising Telugu culture, literature and tradition among the Telugu-speaking people of America.

The event was aimed at highlighting the significance of traditional music and culture, the organisers said.

The Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari lauded the initiative, saying "it would go a long way in upholding the traditions".

The event was inaugurated on Saturday by the Governor ESL Narasimhan and his Tamil Nadu counterpart K Rosaiah.
