Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh:
Three members of a family, including two women, died after being hit by a train in East Godavari district on Tuesday, police said.
The trio, who are yet to be identified, approached the railway track near Kethavaram railway station, 25 kilometres away from Rajahmundry, at around 1500 hrs with an intention to commit suicide.
However, they developed cold feet and tried to run away but were run over by the Bokaro Express headed towards Visakhapatnam, they said.
Police are ascertaining the motive behind their suicide bid.
A case has been registered in this regard and investigations are on, they added.
