The BJP's core group of leaders put aside their well-documented differences both with each other and with BS Yeddyurappa to attend his grand-daughter's wedding in Bangalore on Wednesday evening.
Party president Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi repped the party at the lavish wedding at Palace grounds.
In recent times, their interactions with Mr Yeddyurappa have deflected threats by him to split the party in Karnataka because he has not been reinstated as chief minister.
Senior leaders LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj skipped the occasion. Both are known to believe that Mr Yeddyurappa, tainted by many corruption cases, must be sidelined within the party.
