Erode: A 12-feet long python was rescued by forest officials from a sugarcane field at a village in the district and let into jungle, officials said.
The python was rescued last evening at Sembulichampalayam village near Anthiyur after a farmer alerted forest personnel.
Officials removed the python, which weighed 17 kgs, from the field and later released it into forests.
