Visakhapatnam:
Two people were killed after the driver of a chemical-laden lorry lost control over the vehicle and rammed into two persons at the Indiranagar area in neighboring Vizianagaram district today morning, police sources said.
Those killed in the accident have been identified as B Malleswara Rao of Vizianagaram (60) and G Ramu (30) of Kakinada in East Godavari district, who were both were lorry drivers.
According to the police, the incident took place when Malleswara Rao and Ramu were huddled up near a bonfire beside a mechanic's shed to keep themselves warm, after parking their lorries on the road side.
The chemical-laden lorry heading towards Rayagada in Odisha ran over the lorry drivers before halting after hitting a roadside house.
The police has registered a case and arrested the lorry driver and an investigation is on.
