Rajahmundry:
Two persons were killed and four others got injured when a three-storeyed building collapsed in Rajahmundry, police said today.
The incident took place late last night near N Bhimaraju street. The building housed oils shops and other business establishments on the ground floor and a family was residing on the top floor, they said.
The deceased have not been identified yet. The injured, who were rescued from the debris, have been admitted to a local hospital.
Rescue teams, including fire, police and revenue officials have reached the spot, and search operations are on to find those who are feared trapped in the debris.
Police suspect that the collapse occurred due to the digging of land in the adjacent plot since a month to
construct a building.
