Coimbatore: About two lakh saplings would be planted in Coimbatore district as part of the targeted planting of 65 lakh saplings across Tamil Nadu, to celebrate the 65th Birthday of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Agriculture Minister S Damodaran said today.
Last year, three lakh saplings were planted as part of 64th birthday, which were being maintained properly, Damodaran said, while participating in the tree planting function organised at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore.
