Sathyamangalam: Two men were killed in flash floods near Sathyamangalam in Erode district of Tamil Nadu on Friday night following heavy rain in the forest areas here.
Both of them were struck by a heavy burst of water as they were crossing an overflowing causeway on a motor bike over a stream at Kasturi Nagar.
The two bodies have been retrieved by police.
However, police and rescue officials are continuing search operations as there is fear that another person could have been trapped.
"We have found three mobile phones and that's why we are continuing rescue efforts just in case should one more person be trapped somewhere. Some also say one of the deceased had two phones," said District Collector Prabhakaran.
