Srikakulam : A staffer each at two temples in Palakonda were suspended for misappropriation of funds, according to government sources.
J Durga Rao, junior assistant at Sri Kotadurga temple and Ch Raju, attender at Sri Gayatri temple were suspended on Wednesday by the executive officer as per the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Endowments, Visakhapatnam for embezzlement during counting of 'hundis' (offerings).
According to sources, Rao was caught throwing a bundle of currency notes of Rs 100 denomination towards Raju in the temple premises during the counting of offerings on Tuesday.
