Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan will be honoured by the Chicago University.
The university will also hold a retrospective of 71-year-old's three films as examples of best in Indian cinema, which is celebrating its 100th year.
Mr Adoor's films, "Mathilukal" (Walls), "Vidheyan" (The Servile) and "Nizhalkkuthu" (Shadow Kill) would be screened from April 11 to 13, the director said in a release in Thiruvananthapuram.
Following this event, the Adoor Gopalakrishnan Film Archive and Research Fund would be inaugurated at the Wisconsin University on April 15.
Mr Adoor's films are already being studied at the Universities of Colorado and Yale as part of Asian cinema.
