Tamil Nadu government today ordered release of water from Kelavarapalli reservoir in Krishnagiri district for irrigation from tomorrow.
The order followed requests from farmers in that area, Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said in a statement.
The release would benefit over 8,000 acres of farming lands in Krishnagiri district, he added.
