Chennai:
A 36-year-old woman, who posed as an Indian Police Services (IPS) officer and allegedly cheated people of money and property along with her two accomplices, have been arrested, police said.
Acting on a complaint, Central Crime Branch of Chennai Police nabbed the woman, who impersonated an IPS officer with her uncle in Vellore last evening, police said.
Another person was arrested on Thursday in this connection.
Fake identity cards, certificates and photographs showing the woman with senior police officials were recovered from her possession.
Investigations showed that they had cheated many people of money and ornaments in Chennai and Vellore districts claiming to be running a trust for children and other business.
