Kochi:
Kerala based movie production company Vaya Films organised a walk from the Durbar Hall grounds to the Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, the city's green lung, as a part of the World Environment Day.
The walk was flagged off by the Actor Jishnu Raghavan at 7.30 am. The public function at the Mangalavanam was inaugurated by the Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany while Hibi Eden, MLA, presided.
Vaya Films has selected 22 senior contingent workers of Cochin Corporation from 22 circles and honoured them for their outstanding dedicated service to the city.
The function was organised as a part of the Vaya Films' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative Clean Kochi Green Kochi in association with the city based youth organisation Change Our World.
Vaya Fims Executive Director Shivan G Nair and 'Annum Innum Ennum' film director Rajesh Nair also participated in the function.
Addressing the gathering, the mayor said it was the duty of the youngsters to protect Nature. There is need for sustainable projects to protect the environment, he said.
