Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned till Tuesday a petition by former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa seeking relaxation of one of the conditions of anticipatory bail granted to him in connection with an illegal mining case being probed by CBI.
Mr Yeddyurappa is seeking relaxation of the condition according to which he should seek prior permission of the court if he has to travel out of Bangalore.
Justice Subhash B Adi adjourned the petition after directing the petitioner and other accused to file an affidavit that they would be available for investigation whenever CBI requires them.
Earlier, Ashok Haranahally, the counsel for the petitioner submitted that "it (the situation) had become like house arrest for Yeddyurappa. Even when he was admitted to Jindal Institute of Naturopathy a few days ago, CBI questioned him stating it was some kilometres away from Bangalore".
"Whenever CBI needs him for investigation, he can be informed one day prior and he will be available", he stated.
The court then directed Mr Haranahally to file an affidavit to this effect and adjourned hearing till Tuesday.
The Supreme Court, on August 6, had rejected the CBI plea seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail.
The Karnataka High Court had on June 21 granted conditional anticipatory bail to Mr Yeddyurappa in the case.
