Up against Korean Hyun Il Lee, Gurusaidutt fought hard a three-game match but ended up on the losing side. The Indian lost 21-14, 17-21, 8-21 in a 47-minute battle.
His senior colleague Arvind's fate was no different as the Indian played his heart out before going down 21-23, 6-21 to Yi Lu in a 39-minute match.
Gurusaidutt will play the men's singles qualifiers of the Hong Kong Open next week, while Arvind will take on Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in the first round.
