London:
Australia's top football official accepts there is a clamor for Europe to stage the 2018 World Cup, but the campaign is still focused on hosting the event then or in 2022.
Australia - like the European nations - are competing for either tournament in the dual FIFA vote in December.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter did suggest earlier this week that talks were under way to confine the 2018 vote to European nations.
While Australia Football Federation chief executive Ben Buckley is yet to be informed of that decision, he wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
Buckley told reporters that "our strategy doesn't change. We always understood there would be a strong push for Europe for 2018."
