Bangalore:
High on confidence after attaining his career best world ranking, ace shuttler Arvind Bhatt is now geared up to take on the world's best in the upcoming European tour events, starting from September 29.
Bhatt, who reached the quarterfinals of the prestigious Macau Open last month, was ecstatic after achieving his career-best 21st spot in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) ranking chart and said he is confident of a good show in the European tour.
"I'm very excited about the European tour. Last year, I reached the finals of the Bitburger Open in Germany and this time around I'm hoping to change that runner-up status to winner," Bhatt said.
"I'm also keen to improve my record in the Dutch, Danish and French Opens. It's going to be a tough tour against the best in the world but I've been training hard for this tour and I'm confident of a good performance," added the national champion, who will depart for Germany on September 10.
Bhatt's European tour campaign will begin with the Bitburger Saarlorlux Open in Saarlorlux, Germany from September 29 to October 4, followed by the Yonex Dutch Open Super Series in Almere (October 13-18) and Denmark Super Series in Odense (October 20-25).
He will round off his European sojourn with the French Open Super Series in Paris from October 27-November 1.
