Macau:
Gaganjeet Bhullar turned in his second successive card of two-under 69 to soar to the tied sixth spot just before darkness dropped early curtains on the third round of the $500,000 Macau Open golf tournament here on Saturday.
Bhullar now has a 54-hole total of 209, six shots behind leader Thaworn Wiratchant who was three-under after 14 holes before play was suspended.
C Muniyappa carded 71 to rise to tied 28th at 213, one shot ahead of fellow Indian Digvijay Singh, who carded 70 today.
Bhullar bogeyed the second and fourth holes to go two-over before birdies on the sixth and seventh restored normalcy and the Kapurthala pro went on to nail two more birdies on the 15th and 18th to finish at two-under.
"I started off badly. I was two-over after four holes but apart from that I recovered well. If my start was better I would have been a few shots off the lead," Bhullar said.
"The course is playing really long. Short game will be the key tomorrow. Mentally I will be calm and focused and it doesn't make any difference if you finish your round because you still have to play 18 holes," he said.
Meanwhile, Thaworn Wiratchant stayed on course for his 11th Asian Tour title after soaring to the lead at 10-under through 14 holes.
