Kolkata:
Unhappy at the arbitrator's decision to give interim relief to Bhaichung Bhutia, Mohun Bagan on Sunday said they would take the matter to FIFA in their fight for "justice".
Mohun Bagan also said the Indian captain was not mature enough when he made a comment that few officials in the club were trying to ruin his career.
"He is not mature enough now. I am sure when he comes to administration or coaching at any point of time in his career, he will understand the need to maintain discipline. Life will come a full circle for him," Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra said.
"When we took action against him we became bad. It's like teachers who act strict in a school become bad. We have to maintain discipline. We want to brief FIFA about the state of football in Kolkata, where there is no discipline. We want to tell FIFA about this," he said.
Terming the reference of the suspension row to the arbitrator as unconstitutional and a "well-orchestrated drama", Mitra said they were awaiting for the decision to be made official to the IFA and then they would take their next course of action.
Mitra said the case should not have gone to the arbitrator and the Players' Status Committee of the AIFF should have handled it.
"It is purely a well-orchestrated drama. In first place, it should not have gone to arbitrator. The Players' Status Committee of AIFF should have dealt with this like it has happened in the past," Mitra said, citing examples of N P Pradeep and Steven Dias.
"An arbitrator is appointed when all other possible options get exhausted. But we will fight till the end. We are waiting for the decision to come to IFA and then we will take our next course of action," said Mitra.
The AIFF-appointed arbitrator, Amarendra Sharan, on Saturday granted interim relief to Bhutia allowing him to play "for any club of his choice" until a final verdict is passed.
Mohun Bagan had on June 8 slapped a six-month suspension without pay on the star Indian forward on disciplinary grounds.
Bhutia, who has a year left in his contract with Mohun Bagan, later entered into an agreement with East Bengal.
The matter was referred to the arbitrator after AIFF and IFA failed to give a judgment.
