Chandigarh: Ace Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra produced a clinical performance but unfortunately missed the gold after computer system crashed at the European Cup International Championship in Hanover, Germany on Sunday.
In the final round, he was leading by four shots when the computer software crashed at the competition, resulting in the premature end to the match.
Based on his showing in the qualification round, Bindra was awarded the silver medal. He scored 596 (100, 97, 100, 100, 99 and 100).
The gold went to Jung Hanel of Germany, who also scored 596 (100, 100, 99, 100, 99 and 98) and the bronze went to Richter Sergey of Israel (595 -- 99, 99, 100, 99, 100 and 98).
In the qualifying round, Bindra had equalled his gold winning Beijing Olympics' score of 596 -- the fourth time in a row.
