London: Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic dug deep to reach the second round at Wimbledon with a gritty 4-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory over Belgium's Olivier Rochus under the Centre Court lights on Monday.
Djokovic's match was finally completed late into the evening after the Centre Court roof was closed to allow the floodlights to be switched on when darkness descended on the All England Club.
The Serb looked in trouble when he fell two sets to one behind against the obdurate Rochus, but he fought back to claim a hard-fought victory.
