New Delhi:
Clarifying all rumors and controversies in context to IOA Chief Suresh Kalmadi and Hockey India, the spokesperson of the national game's body of operations said that the elections will be held soon and that the World Cup 2010 will go ahead despite the delay in elections.
He said, "India will not lose hosting rights for the World Cup 2010. The World Cup will go ahead despite the election delay."
Clearing the air on the cold war between former player Pargat Singh and Suresh Kalmadi, the HI spokesperson admitted that the use of the word 'mafia' by Pargat Singh was unfortunate.
Pargat Singh had earlier referred to Suresh Kalmadi as a 'sports mafia' who was making all attempts to take over the game of Hockey in India.
Kalmadi had retorted back saying that all the allegations by Pargat Singh were baseless and that he was too busy with the Commonwealth Games 2010 preparations to eye the top post of Hockey India.
"There has been no pressure from Mr Suresh Kalmadi," the spokesperson cleared.
