Everton loses 3-2 at Hull to put pressure on Moyes

London: Everton dropped closer to the Premier League relegation zone on Wednesday after losing 3-2 at Hull.

Stephen Hunt, Andy Dawson and Dean Marney all scored for Hull inside the opening half-hour.

Hull's Kamil Zayatte helped Everton back into the game in the second half, scoring an own-goal and then conceding a penalty that Louis Saha converted.

Everton manager David Moyes had turned his team into regular top-six finishers in the league but it has now won just once in its last seven games and is level on 15 points with Hull, four above the drop zone.

Asked if he was worried Everton could become embroiled in a survival battle, Moyes curtly replied: "Could be, yes."

Hull manager Phil Brown, meanwhile, has dragged his team out of the bottom three by taking seven of the last nine points.

Also on Wednesday, Clint Dempsey scored twice in the second half as Fulham beat Blackburn 3-0 at Craven Cottage to end a three-match winless streak and move into the top half of the standings. Fulham's Erik Nevland scored before halftime.
