Explain allegations of corruption, says Games CEO Hooper

New Delhi: There is more embarrassment for the organisers of the Commonwealth Games as the Commonwealth Federation has sought written assurances on the Games' venues.

Speaking to NDTV, Games federation CEO Mike Hooper expressed concern over the rising allegations of corruption and delays. In fact he wondered why it took so long for the venues to be finalised.

"We are concerned with the implications of the CVC report and indeed we have written to the organising committee following the release of that report, basically saying that we need assurances as does the organising committee. We need assurances from the venue owners which are basically government agencies that all venues fully comply with the government of India laws, and all sanctions and sign offs on it are appropriately obtained," said Hooper.
