Second seeded Spaniards Marcel Granollers and S Ventura got the better of unseeded Brits C Fleming and Ken Skupski 3-6 6-3 10-8 in 72 minutes to make the doubles final of the ATP Chennai Open tennis tournament after an hour past mid-night.
In the long drawn encounter, the Ventura was broken in the fourth game by the Fleming and Skupski in the first set but the Spaniards turned the table on the English in the next set in quick time of 41 minutes. Here, Ken Skupski was broken in the second game and the English led 3-1.
However, Granollers and Ventura, a regulars here for the last four years regrouped and touch as a strong combination and then led 5-3. Granollers held his serve without losing any points for a 6-3.
In the super tie break, the rivals were equal to their tasks and tied at 6-6. Here Granollers scored two points for 8-6 and then 9-7. With the scoreline reading 9-8, it turned to be anyones game but the Spaniards had the last laugh score the required points for the match.
