Hockey team for South Asian Games announced

New Delhi: Ajitesh Roy will lead the Indian hockey team at the 11th South Asian Games to be held at Dhaka from Jan 29-Feb 9.

Hockey India (HI) Friday announced a list of players for the competition.

Chief coach Clarence Lobo said the team is well prepared for the tournament.

The other teams in the tournament are hosts Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

"We have preapared well at Lucknow and the boys are looking forward to the tournament. There are some good teams in the tournament like Pakistan and Bangladesh."

"Pakistan can give us tough competition while Bangladesh have players who played in the German league. SO that exposure can be handy for them. But we are a good outfit and our first aim will be to do well in the league matches and reach the final," Lobo said.

The squad will leave for Dhaka Jan 27.
