Despite having three world class archers in Jayanta Talukdar, Rahul Banerjee and Mangal Singh Champia, India will not contest the men's recurve final of the fourth Asian Grand Prix archery tournament.
Only Vishwash will figure in the bronze medal play-off on Saturday as the Indian bigwigs faltered in the day's proceedings at the SAI Eastern India Complex on Friday.
India, however, managed to have four archers in the finals of the other events at the end of the penultimate day today.
After the men performed poorly in the recurve section this morning, the women managed to lift the spirits in the afternoon session with awesome display in the recurve section. Rimil Buriuly and Laxmi Rani Majhi will contest the final while Olympians Dola Banerjee and Vardhineni Pranitha will face off in the bronze medal play-off.
Chungda Sherpa made the men's compound final and will come up against Ali Majazidalfard of Iran. National champion C Srither will challenge Tim Keppie of Scotland for the bronze medal.

Fifth seed Muni Ram Tirkey lost to Ranjbar in the third round 110-113 and sixth seed Vishwash lost to Hossain in the semifinals after both were tied at 108-108. In the one-arrow shoot off, the Indian shot an 8 and the Bangladeshi hit a 10.
