While Bopanna and Qureshi were on the job at the US Open finals, watching them from the sidelines, were the Ambassadors of India and Pakistan. And for once, cheering for the same side.
"What the two boys are doing here is what Hardeep and I have been trying to do for a long time at the United Nations. The fact remains that there are moments like this and we should take advantage of these moments then," said Ambassador Hussain Haroon, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations.
Adding to Haroon's remark, Indian Ambassador Hardeep Singh Puri said, "We are delighted to see them(Bopanna and Qureshi) at the US Open. We are sure that they will be back next year and take the trophy. "
