Jeev soars to tied 11th, seals PGA Tour card for next year

Las Vegas: Jeev Milkha Singh played near-perfect golf to bring home a sizzling second round card of six-under 66 to leapfrog to the tied 11th place in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and seal his full playing privileges on the PGA Tour next year.

The Indian followed his opening round 67 with a bogey-free 65 and lies just three shots off joint leaders Troy Matteson and Chad Campbell in the $4.2 million event.

Jeev is now certain to add to his USD 815,532 in the non-members earnings and the money would be enough to gain full playing rights on the PGA Tour next year.

Jeev did not put a foot wrong on Friday, going two-under at the turn courtesy birdies on the fourth and nine holes.

It was, however, on his way back that the affable Indian struck gold, sinking birdies on the 11th and 13th before firing an eagle on the par-five 16th that catapulted him in the leaderboard.
