Tokyo: Defending champion Jeev Milkha Singh brought home his first sub-par card of the week to lie tied seventh after the halfway stage of the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup here on Friday.
Jeev followed his opening round 71 with a strong 69 to lie three shots off lead at even-par 140. Shigeki Maruyama (137) is perched on top after carding three-under 67 today.
Jeev had a rather average start with the fifth hole bogey snapping the string of par shots that left him one-over at the turn.
Jeev made amends on his way back and birdied the 11th hole to go even-par.
The 13th hole bogey, however, pushed him back again but Jeev responded with birdies on the 14th and 17th holes to eventually sign off with a sub-par card.
